The Seven Romans (Posted on 2013-01-02) Difficulty: 2 of 5
Six out of seven directors of the pub "Roman Emporium" were pleased with its new name, "COLD MIX" and voted for it.
One was disappointed and voted against the majority.
He claimed that he was betrayed by his friends, that gave preference to Otto, who was younger, less experienced, a newcomer to the club and not yet officially a director.
What was the dissenter's name?
a.ALBERTO
b.IGNAZIO
c.STEFANO
d.VITTORIO

Please justify your choice.

I say the answer is b. IGNAZIO.

Why? Well, of the four choices, Ignazio (I) is the only one represented in the name COLD MIX. He was offended because O, for Otto, comes before I, for Ignazio.

Stating that it is a `Roman` Emporium and giving a name that is represented almost (if not) entirely by Roman Numerals causes people to think too much. Or rather, think in the wrong direction. If intentional, that's a great Red Herring. :]
