Card Deal (Posted on 2013-06-20) Difficulty: 2 of 5
A selection of eight cards is dealt with every second card being returned to the bottom of the pack. Thus the top card goes to the table, card two goes to the bottom of the pack, card three goes to the table, card four to the bottom of the pack, and so on. This procedure continues until all cards are dealt.

The order in which the cards appear on the table is:

If the cards in the original pack are numbered 1 through 8, we can see where they end up:

So whatever card you want to come out first should start off first; whatever card you want second should start out third, etc.

So to answer Ady's question:
