With at least one piece of each type on the board, what is the maximum number of chess pieces you can place on a chessboard, such that no piece is under attack?

Some Thoughts re(2): SOLUTION Comment 9 of 9 |
(In reply to re: SOLUTION by Jyqm)

Jyqm,

I accept your remarks bona fide and will definitely try to present
my future  comments in a lower gear.
My remarks re significance of the color were made firstly when
the puzzle was reviewed on the board, Jer supported my opinion, however no modifications were made.
Whatever is vaguely defined leaves the freedom of interpretation
to the solver and sometimes he drives in unexpected direction -
no need to blame him.
I never really wanted to be "snarky or a bit rude "(btw both adjectives  are more or less as offensive as " badly worded, vague and misleading.")  and just wanted to stress the danger of  ambiguous presentatiomn.
Re 22 pieces - I have successfully placed 21 pieces and was about to post my solution when your answer was  just made public.
For the moment it is a record , but no one knows whether 23 or
more is achievable..
Thanks again for your candid comment.
