Given a convex quadrilateral. Construct, with straight-edge and
compass, a line parallel to one of the sides of the quadrilateral
that divides the area of the quadrilateral in half.

Playing around with GSP I have not found
a quadrilateral configuration that fails
both constructions in Case III.

If you can find a quadrilateral configuration
that fails both constructions please reply to 
this post ( give |AB|, |BC|, |CD|, |DA|, and 
angle BAD ). 

If you can give a proof why one of the two
constructions must succeed it would be great.
