There is an equal probability of boys being theatre-goers as there is to girls, yet an EQUAL number of boys and girls may also be theatre-goers which makes the probability not equal to 0.5, but a smaller percentage. Given x as the probability that g = b, then the probability in question is equal to (1 - x)/2.
One unanswered question is whether any boy or girl can chose not to be a theatre-goer even if there is a promotional ticket available.
