This thing all things devours:

Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats high mountain down.

I am wondering if Nature is more what Tolkien was thinking.

Time is an abstract whereas Nature might be considered to be a .. somewhat, more, concrete thing.
