9-letter word (Posted on 2015-09-25) Difficulty: 5 of 5
There is only one word in the English language , replacing the ? sign in the alphametic

seventeen + seventeen = ?

to make it uniquely solvable.

Find this word.

Some Thoughts re: computer solutions | Comment 4 of 6 |
(In reply to computer solutions by Charlie)

Without the nicety of a programming language like Charlies', I was able to find three words:

SEVENTEEN
103074007 206147014 REASTIEST
103074007 206147014 YEASTIEST
104039003 208078006 JEWELWEED

REASTIEST (most rancid) and YEASTIEST (most resembling or containing yeast) are essentially the same alphametic, but having a different alphabetic representation for the number 2.
