101 distinct real numbers are written in any order

Prove that it is possible to erase 90 of them leaving a sequence of 11 numbers that are in either a strictly increasing or strictly decreasing order.

I managed to show 1,2,6,7 are the minimum count of real numbers from which you an erase 0,1,2,3 to leave a sequence in order.

https://oeis.org/A241720 seems to be the sequence for this, which has 101 as its 11th term.
