Heavily wounded (Posted on 2017-05-08) Difficulty: 1 of 5
In a group of soldiers,
if 70% have lost an eye,
75% an ear,
80% an arm,
85% a leg,

what percentage, at least, must have lost all four?

Solution War is hell (spoiler) Comment 1 of 1
30% have not lost an eye
25% have not lost an ear
20% have not lost an arm
15% have not lost a leg

If there is no overlap between these 4 subsets, then 90% have one part that they have not lost.

That leaves 10% who must have lost all 4.

If there is any overlap, than over 10% have lost all 4.

The answer is 10%
