When I saw this problem I immediately thought of the symmetrical product 111,111,111^2 = 12,345,678,987,654,321.  But that does not contain the digit 0.  Adding an extra 1 produces 1,111,111,111^2 = 1,234,567,900,987,654,321.  I would be surprised if this was the smallest answer.
