Triangle in a triangle (Posted on 2017-08-28) Difficulty: 1 of 5
If you have a triangle with sides A<B<C
and a smaller triangle with sides a<b<c,
where a<A, b<B, and c<C,
will the smaller triangle always fit entirely within the larger one?

Question re(2): How about this one? Comment 4 of 4 |

Though your 2,2,2 and 3,3,5 don't quite fit the problem I like them.  They lead to some nice extensions for integer sided triangles:

How small can they be?
How small can the difference between their perimeters be?
What if those less than signs were less than or equal to signs?
