The English word "? " describing a number X
has the value of X points in SCRABBLE.
Find X.
I'm pretty sure this list is complete. Words longer than seven letters can be formed by crossing multiple letters. Some words cross unneeded bonus squares but these squares don't count if already used by another word.
ELEVEN with a one-point letter tripled = 11
THIRTEEN with a one-point letter tripled* = 13
FIFTEEN with a one-point letter tripled* = 15
SIXTEEN with a one-point letter tripled* = 16
A cheat: These words are technically hyphenated so not allowed unless you remove it.
TWENTY-TWO = 22 with the Y doubled.
TWENTY-SIX = 26 with the Y doubled.
FORTY-TWO = 42 with the Y doubled and the word doubled.
FORTY-FOUR = 44 with the Y doubled and the word doubled.
FORTY-SIX = 46 with the T tripled and the word doubled.
FORTY-EIGHT = 48 with F doubled and the word doubled.
FIFTY-ONE with a triple word.
FIFTY-SIX with F doubled and the word doubled.
FIFTY-EIGHT with F&G doubled and the word doubled.
SIXTY-SIX with X doubled and the word doubled.
SEVENTY-FIVE with S&I doubled and the word tripled.
SEVENTY-EIGHT with V doubled and the word tripled.
EIGHTY-FOUR with T doubled and the word doubled twice.
EIGHTY-EIGHT hitting two double word score squares.
A big cheat. These last two are not even single words but I think they are amazing if considered to be all one fifteen letter word.
SEVEN HUNDRED TWO = 702 if it is played along an edge it hits three triple-letter-score squares. (The 4th and 12th letters are not doubled.)
EIGHT HUNDRED FOUR = 804 if it is played along an edge, the H and D are both doubled so the letters add to 30. The three triples make the value 30*3*3*3=804.
