What is the smallest number that can be shown as a difference between two squares in 5 different ways?
I like xdog's methodology, but I think a lower number that qualifies is
144.
144 can be factored as (2*72),(4*36),(6*24),(8,18) and (12,12)
This leads to squares (37,35), (20,16), (15,9), (13,5) and (12,0)
The last one is controversial, but I argue that 144 = 12^2 - 0^2
