For all the tea in China (Posted on 2020-07-29) Difficulty: 3 of 5
The alphametic

TEA*TEA=CHINA

yields 3 distinct solutions,
but only one of them makes
T.ATEBCCN...
a special number.

TEA=175, 186, 195 are each solutions.

TEA=186 makes T.ATEBCCN = 1.618B339 and B=0 gives phi to seven places.

Somewhere Martin Gardner argued that all numbers are special, for if non-special numbers exist, one must be smallest, which fact makes it special.  QED.
