Puzzle Answer by K Sengupta)
The gentleman in a green tie responded to a statement from Mr. Yellow. Therefore, Mr. Yellow is NOT wearing a green tie. Also, by Mr. Yellow's statement, the names and the tie color of each of the three individuals is different. So, Mr. Yellow is not wearing a yellow tie either. Accordingly, Mr. Yellow must be wearing the brown tie.
Now, Mr. Green cannot be wearing the green tie. He cannot be wearing a brown tie which is already occupied by Mr. Yellow. Accordingly, he must be wearing the yellow tie.
Since we already know that Mr. Yellow and Mr. Green respecvely wears the brown and yellow ties, it follows that the remaining individual, i.e., Mr.Brown must be wearing the green tie.
Summarizing, we must habe:
• Mr. Yellow is wearing the Brown tie.
• Mr. Hreen is wearing the yellow tie.
• Mr. Brown is wearing the Green tie.
