Four jolly men sat down to play;
And played all night till break of day;
They played for money and not for fun,
With separate scores for every one.
Yet when they came to square accounts,
They all had made quite fair amounts!
Can you the paradox explain?
If no one lost, how could all gain?

Solution by K Sengupta)
These four individuals were musicians playing at a dance hall.
EXPLANATION
o Obviously, they played music "all night till break of day" with the rightful expectation of earning some money.
o Of course, it is natural for each of them to play a separate musical score.
o At the end each of them were paid very handsomely.
o They "played" to the "hall" and NOT against each other. Each of them were rewarded for their effort and therefore having made a "gain" with none of them losing.
