A six-way division (Posted on 2022-11-01) Difficulty: 3 of 5
Think of this problem as an extension to A four-way division.

Six friends are gathered at a pub. They have in front of them three 12-pint tankards full of beer, and an empty 5-pint mug.

Since they are still sober, they quickly calculate that they have 36 pints for the six of them, which comes to an even 6 pints per person.

How can they divide the beer equally with the containers they have available?

Note: For the purposes of the problem, assume that the pub does not have any pint glasses, and the six friends will have to drink from the four available containers.

I have found that, for example, copying from the output window of a Matlab IDE, where I have increased the font size, I get the problem you describe. So I copy from Matlab and paste into a text editor (I use TextPad, rather than NotePad), and then I copy from the text editor and paste into Perplexus. Since the text editor has no internal marking of font size, there is no font size carried over to the posting window.

Regarding your typing by hand, or, actually any method of getting the text in with the proper size font: Once the text is in place, you will get fixed width characters by swiping to highlight the whole table and then selecting the pre-formatted choice from the formatting pull-down.
