Let d(n) be the sum of digits of n.
Let s(n) = nth term of the sequence.
Then, s(n+1) = s(n) +d(n) 
For example:
S(6) = s(5)+d(5)= 16+7 =23
Consequently, 
s(10)= s(9)+d(9) = 49+13 =62
