I toss two coins and look at the outcome.
I then tell you that at least one of the coins is showing up as "tails". What is the chance that the other one is showing "tails" as well?

The "I" who tells is a person. That person has choices. Just because it is not a third person doesn't change the fact that the person, the narrator, had to choose what to report in the case of a split outcome.
