There aren't many possibilities to check: 36, fewer if A doesn't equal B or C.

I used my calculator to make a table with

sqrt(011220+100001x)

with x from 1 to 9

and planned to increment the first number to 022440 etc.

But the answer popped up quickly: 511225 = 715^2

A near miss was 444884 = 667^2 + 1
