What is the least possible numbers in a Math Circle, where girls constitute more than 48.5% but less than 50% of the members?

Let the number of females be n and the number of males = n+1.

Then n/(2n+1) > .485
        n > .97n + .485
        .03n > .485
        n > .485/.03 = 16.166666

So Females = 17
     Males = 18
     Female % = 17/35 = 48.57%
