On average, how often (once
every N years) does a blue moon
(2nd full moon in the same month)
fall on New Year’s Eve in Los
Angeles?
If we define New Year's Eve as any time from 00:00:00 to 23:59:59 on the 31st of December, then a full moon on this date (which will automatically be a blue moon) will happen just as often as any other date.
Since a full moon happens on average every 29.53 days, a given date will see a full moon on average every 29.53 years.
But what this has to do with LA, I don't know. So I'm worried this is some kind of a trick.
