There is a perfect sphere of diameter 100 cms. resting up against a perfectly straight wall and a perfectly straight floor.
What is the diameter of the largest sphere that can pass through the gap between the wall, floor and the sphere ?
Just thought I would share with everyone so that if you do the same you won't spend a stupid amount of time wondering what went wrong, like I did - I worked this one out in a way similar to everyone else and got 100(√2 - 1)^2 instead of (100(√2 - 1))/(√2+1). It took me a half hour to realise that these are the same!
