53, 10, 36. The "rul-ed" in the title is (supposed to be) a clue that this refers to some people called Edward. The sequence comprises the last 2 digits of the years when English/British Kings called Edward left the throne (this includes both reigns of Edward IV). Therefore, the full sequence goes: Edward the Elder (925), Edward the Martyr (978), Edward the Confessor (1066), Edward I (1307), Edward II (1327), Edward III (1377), Edward IV (1470, 1483), Edward V (1483), followed by the answers: Edward VI (1553), Edward VII (1910) and Edward VIII (1936).
