2 colors (Posted on 2003-04-27) Difficulty: 2 of 5
A painter went to a single mathematical plane, and colored every single point on that plane one of two colors.

Prove that there exist two points on the plane that are exactly one meter apart and have the same color.

pick any point, and say that the color was red. then draw a line, exactly one meter long, and then the point it lands on has to be a different color, lets say green. then make a triangle, with all of the sides 1 meter. the third point of the triangle has to be one of the two previously mentioned colors.
