ABCD is a square with points E and F on sides AB and BC respectively. Given DF=4, EF=3, and DE=5 find the area of the square.

If this diagrams is inspected carefully, you will observe that the “3, 4, 5” triangle cannot be those dimensions in that configuration.  The clue is to observe the right triangle formed on the right angle made by the top right hand corner of the square.  This makes the proposed solution for “x”, fail.
