Consider 9 dots arranged in a three by three square. Connect all these 9 points with four lines without lifting your pen from the paper.

For what it's worth, if you first wrapped the paper around a cylinder, then used CT's method number 1, you could connect all the dots with one line and never lift the pen from the paper.
