This riddle originates in "Riddle of the Dark"  chapter of "The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Bilbo Baggins play a game of wits. Gollum will show Bilbo out of a tunnel if he wins but will devour him if Bilbo loses.
This enigma is Riddle #3 that Bilbo posed to Gollum.
