I began with 999999 in my spreadsheet with single digit decrementing divisors.

Basically it reads as:
                    9                 8                 7            6
999999    111111      124999.8  142857   166666.5
888888      98765.3   111111     126984   148148
777777      86419.6    97222.1   111111   129629.5
666666      74074       83333.2    95238  111111

Two quotients are 5 digit but 95238 is the larger.
