Three line segment have the lengths p, q and r.

Using the compass alone, describe a line segment having the length s such that:
p/q = r/s

Notes:

(i) All these three cases must be considered.
  • r < 2p
  • r ≥ 2p, q < p, and:
  • r ≥ 2p, qp
(ii) Using any geometrical aid other than compass, like straightedge, protractor etc. is not permissible.
