X L's from rolling TdL (Posted on 2014-09-30) Difficulty: 2 of 5
I am about to roll TdL (T L-sided dice). Given that each die is numbered sequentially 1 through L, and that all sides have an equal chance of being rolled, find the formula to calculate the probability P that precisely X of the dice rolled will show L.

Ex: If I'm about to roll 10d6 (10 6-sided dice), and I want to find the probability that exactly 2 of them will land on 6, then I would plug in T=10, L=6, and X=2 into your formula to find P.

Note: For those of you who have studied probability, and already know the formula, please leave it for others to solve.
