Very nice.   It only needs to be pointed out that the radius of A1 needs to be greater than half thew radius of the given circle otherwise circle D1 doesn't intersect circle A1.


I found this interesting an informative pdf of compass only constructions. http://www.math.ualberta.ca/~tlewis/343_10/04sec.pdf
But its solution to this problem is really complicated.  I couldn't manage it even with Geometer's Sketchpad.
