well, when I had worked it out I didn't actually realise that the numbers were based on phone keys, but it was very easy to see how they related to each other in a pattern.
Had you written them out, you would have seen
A 12
B 22
C 32
D 13
E 23
F 33
and so on. That's how I was able to fill in the missing numbers to give the next line:
"Hello operator, please give me number nine"
even though letters like "p" weren't in the original.
ps: "phone" is short for "phonetic"??? Where did you learn Greek?
