The challenge: Pack as many consecutive 3 digit numbers as possible into a 9x9 grid. The numbers may be read from any direction. No leading zeros.

I think you've explained it very well... and I encourage you to continue to 'back up' your solutions with how you arrived at your answers. I know I'm not the only one who appreciates the thought process and methodologies behind the answers.
