U say: " AEGILOPS (alternate spelling of egilops, an ulcer in a part of the eye) is apparently the longest word in W2 which consists of letters in alphabetical order ..."
I say : How about FACETIOUS ( vowels in alph. order) or even better FACETIOUSLY ( here even Y is counted as an vowel).
More:
Buenos Aires and Port-au-Prince are the only capitals using all the vowels..
And how about:
BOOKKEEPPER (4 doubles in a row!!) assisted by a subBOOKKEEPPER (5 doubles but too artificial...)
Strengths (one vowel only- just like queue, OHIO, IOWA and OAHU with one consonant only!!!)
I have a veryloooooooooooooong liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiist of oddies, but will stop here, concluding with the longest English word:
SMILES - a whole mile between two S-es.
