Who's the odd one out? (Posted on 2004-04-10) Difficulty: 2 of 5
Of the words listed below, one is "odd man out." This has nothing to do with the number of vowels, consonants or syllables. Can you find the misfit?

LUMP REAM SAGA PALM

That's not true, Jer.  Here's a true example where I've heard the word GAAS used:

My eighty year old beer bellied friend (whose name shall go unmentioned) stood bolt upright, eyes fixated on a spot on the far wall; fist clawing the sofa and exposing a long row of bony, white knuckles.  In the dim lighting of my room, his agitated body shook and contorted in strange unearthly manifestations.

"I can't...  *huff*...  CAN'T!"  He gasped uncontrollably, wretching out a string of unintelligible syllables...

"... help...  HELP!!  PILLS!! MY GA...  MY GAAS!!!!"  But it was too late.  In vain the old man bent over as the sound of many pipes bursting filled the room as the loudest rasberry I have ever heard knocked me unconcious to the floor.  The old man never did recover.
