Actually, I think that exponentiation is done before multiplication and division, but right to left... not left to right.  (Perhaps someone can confirm/correct me.... anyone?)

Either way, I would also approach this problem numerically (in which case this is a relatively easy problem).  I look forward to the analytic (algebraic?) solution.
