A man had a 10-gallon keg full of wine, and an empty jug. On Monday he drew off a jugful of wine and filled up the keg with water. On Friday, after the wine and water had been thorougly mixed, he drew off another jugful and again filled up the keg with water. The keg then contained equal quantities of wine and water.
What was the capacity of the jug?

if the jug were 4.578 gallons, then after the first pour, the keg would contain 5.422 gallons of wine or let’s say 54% of the keg’s capacity of 10 gallons.
after the addition of the water and the second pour, the wine content would then be 54% of 54% of 10 gallons, which is roughly 2.9 gallons. and we want the wine content to be 50%.
i say my way (similar to Richard's) is the easiest. (and i NEED it to be easy)
after posting, i checked other solutions and Richard's and Thalamus’s answer's are the same as mine, although they took a different paths.
