A mother is 21 years older than her son, and in 6 years time the son will be one fifth of her age.

Where is the father?

I would think since the question states that the mother 'is' 21 years older than her son, that the son has already been conceived that day/night since he would not exist if otherwise. (the mother could not be older than her son if she did not have him)

(One could argue that as the calculations give a negative age for the time between conception and birth, that the use of the word 'is' still should not work, but i'll leave that alone)
