Get one half by squaring (Posted on 2004-09-20) Difficulty: 4 of 5
Can you solve the following equation?

½ = 1/x² + 1/y² +...+ 1/z²

All variables must be different, positive integers, and there must be a finite number of terms.

Use two terms, one variable = 2, the other = square root of 4.
Finite terms, check.
Positive integers, check.
Different? yes & no.

Otherwise, this seems like the 1/2 the distance to your destination problem. You will never get there.
