A watchdog is tied to the outside wall of a round building 20 feet in diameter. If the dog's chain is long enough to wind half way around the building, how large an area can the watchdog patrol?
I agree with the semi-disc area : 50 Pi^3
My horns sum to (100Pi^3)/3-100Pi.
So I am getting a total area of about 2269.7 ft^2. hmmm ... this is in the ballpark of the CeeAnn estimate, but I am putting no guarantees.
Side Comment: It is probably a bad idea to use degrees in any form of calculus, as most of the polar formulas and such depend upon the clever definition of radian. I have learned this the hard way a few times. :-)
