A watchdog is tied to the outside wall of a round building 20 feet in diameter. If the dog's chain is long enough to wind half way around the building, how large an area can the watchdog patrol?
I must. of course, once again commend Nikki (who was correct from the start), and Charlie, and Larry, and Richard. Reallio trulio neato, peeps. Hugs.
However, you may appreciate the fact that, after long and last, I actually did the quasipolar little sector summation thingy with eight 22½º increments and obtained a single horn area of 517.0348568 yielding a total area of 2584.383548. This compares to what you got with 516.775033 for the single horn area and 2583.85639 total area. I mean, finally, even this pseudomechanical method got to within about 5/10,000% ... actually 2/10,000% if you compare the whole area. Just thought you'd like to know. Hugs. - CeeAnne -
