On Tour (Posted on 2004-11-03) Difficulty: 3 of 5
Caesar Cypher & The Substitutions have been on tour, and as tradition dictates, the souvenir tour T-shirt bears a list of the cities visited on the back. But of course, since we're talking about one of Europe's leading cryptographic jazz combos, the list is in code:

080476
410488
631428083607
735616461
440401478
235476731
540631
616431
461546410

The list contains no information apart from the city names. Can you work out their itinerary?

I wondered if maybe we're dealing with products of primes, but that doesn't seem very likely after I tried the first two numbers:

080476 is the product of 2, 2, 11, 31, 59
410488 is the product of 2, 2, 2, 13, 3947

so that doesn't seem to be the right direction.  I've also toyed with the idea that we're talkign about musical notation, but the presence of 0's and 8's kinda throws that idea off as well.

Mod 27 doesn't seem to work either:

080476 mod 27 = 16 (p)
410488 mod 27 =   7 (g)
631428083607 mod 27 = 21 (u)
