I missed the boat. I had toyed with posting a problem myself using the
periodic table, but as you say, it isn't possible to encode every
message this way, in fact it's quite a challenge to come up with one
that can be encoded and I'm just too lazy!
Kit Williams used a similar code for a red herring in "Masquerade"; a
series of numbers painted on a playing field spelt out "FAlSe NOUU TrY
AgAIn" (or something like that).
