Sequence of Musical Tones (Posted on 2004-12-14) Difficulty: 2 of 5
Music on the planet Alpha Lyra IV consists of only two notes, called A and B. Also, songs never include three consecutive repetitions of any sequence nor does BB ever occur. A sequence of notes can have 1 or more notes in it.

What is the longest song on Alpha Lyra IV?

Yeah, but I did it by hand (and other questions) | Comment 9 of 20 |

I got the same 16 notes as Charlie

baabaababaababaa and its reversal by making a branching tree an nipping the buds that would cause 3 repetitions.

OK, Charlie.  What about a third note called C where CC cannot occur.  If this is infinite, what others such as BC could be excluded to bring it back to finite.
