An intelligent friend of mine told me the other day that half of twelve was seven. I told him it was six, and tapped it in on my calculator to prove it was, in fact, 6. He then wrote down on a piece of paper how he was right.

What did he write?

Write it in roman numerals (XII) and divide it horizontally to get VII: 7.
