Can you hang a painting from two pegs, so that if you remove EITHER of the pegs, the painting will fall down?

Yes, it is possible to hang the painting.

Call the left peg A, the right one B.
Starting from the painting, go up, stay left from A.
Once you are above A, go right and cross the A-B line.
Go under B and right from B go upwards.
Above B go to the left.
Once you are left from A, go down.
Go to the right under A and cross the A-B line.
When you are above and right of B, go down to the painting.
