Given a triangle ABC, how can you find a point P on AC and a point Q on BC, such that AP=PQ=QB?
N.B. A construction method is sought, and only compass and straightedge are allowed.

Is point X a specific distance to the right of O, or is that arbitrary?
Similarly, is Y a specific distance above O,or is that arbitrary?
When first introduced as rays, OX and OY would be assumed to be infinite to the right and up respectively and therefore X and Y at infinity.
