Strange divisibility (Posted on 2005-05-25) Difficulty: 2 of 5
Without evaluation of it, prove that the number N = 27,195^8 - 10,887^8 + 10,152^8 is divisible by 26,460.

Note: the original problem mistakenly listed the last number as 26,640. This has been corrected

(In reply to re(2): Remove Problem by Richard)

I'm just posting a comment, before I read the comment of Charlie.

Richard, your totally right, and I thank you for your POLITE observation. It's indeed 26,460, and even after several readings of the problem, I couldn't figure it out, what is common when we are dealing with numbers like that.

As Jer, in his "radically confusing", all I have to say you all is to apologyze mel and sorry for the time you spent in trying the solution.

But this fact is not boring me too much.

My disappointment is concerned with Mr Raja, that, instead of asking me for possible mistake in my numbers, simply asked to remove the problem. Perhaps Mr Raja was too busy when the Jer's problem was is the air.

So, Mr Raja, send me your address, and I'll sent you the cheeseburger I bet. Nothing more than this.

It's up to the "staff" now. Whatever they decide, it's ok for me, although it's in fact a good problem.

Sorry again, and thank you for your understanding.
