There are a number of common words in the English language which start with a double letter, such as ooze and eerie, but these start with vowels.
Can you think of a common word in the English language which starts with a double consonant?
In addition to llama and llano, there are:
Lloyd (a man's given name)
c-clamp
s-shaped
zzzzz's (as in, did you get your zzzzz's last night ?)
...and a word that is a little less common: zzyzxensis (part of the scientific name of the bombyliid fly : apolysis zzyzxensis)
